Pick the session, not just the rink
The same rink is two completely different places on a Saturday afternoon versus an adult night. Check the events tab before you commit — all-ages sessions, matinees and family skate hours are listed per venue, and the crowd reports on each spot page tell you what a given time of week actually feels like.
Rental skates start around toddler sizes at most SoCal rinks, and admission usually bundles them. Helmets for the small ones, socks above the ankle for everyone.

Every rink below is flagged beginner-friendly by the skaters who report there — flat floors, slow corners, staff used to first-timers. That flag comes from the community, not from the venue's own marketing.
