10/3 Friday 7PM Santa Monica (led by FNS) Meet @ Santa Monica City Hall 1685 Main st. Santa Monica, CA 90401 FNS – Intermediate to advance skate – A rolling party West Los Angeles, Venice and Santa Monica. “The father of all Los Angeles Skate Group” The LA FNS started in 1995 by the Venice Beach Skate Dancers who were enthralled by the cultural phenomena of the San Francisco Friday Night Skate. San Francisco started the world’s first Night Skating group right after the an earthquake damaged the Golden Gate bridge, forcing people out of their cars. By 1995 the SF FNS had become famous, attracting 700+ skaters each week. The Venice Skaters would travel to San Francisco to join their FNS. Not wanted to be out done, Christopher, (OG Venice Skate Dancer) wanted to bring the excitement and thrill of street night skating to LA. Soon, with his DIY sound system backpack, the LA FNS had grown to a weekly rolling disco party. Fast forward to 2018, all the large annual skate events were on the East Coast. LA FNS skater Lena V inspired by New York’s Big Apple Roll thought LA should have its own annual skate event. But what to call it…. And the Big Avocado Roll was born. Part of The Big Avocado Roll. Confirm the exact date and time with the organizer at thebigavocadoroll.com before heading out.
