1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Rink Report, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our application.

2. Who Can Use Rink Report

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Rink Report is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to register. Every skater holds their own account; a skater aged 13 or over may list a parent or guardian among their emergency contacts.

3. User Conduct

You agree to use the app for lawful purposes only. You are responsible for the accuracy of the reports you submit. Abusive language, false reports, or spam will result in content removal or account suspension.

4. Roll Safe Feature

The Roll Safe feature is a community safety net, not a guarantee of emergency response. It is a notification service: it alerts the contacts you choose and cannot contact 911 or any emergency, medical or rescue service on your behalf. If you believe someone is in danger, call your local emergency number. Roll Safe records the location you begin a session from so it can be included in an alert; it does not track your location continuously and is not a live-tracking service.

By adding an emergency contact you confirm that you have that person's permission to be contacted on your behalf. When a timer expires, when you send an alert yourself, or when you lock your account during a session, that contact may receive an SMS message and an automated voice call from Rink Report, and an email where an address is provided. If you check in safe after an alert went out, they may also receive one short SMS and email saying so. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients may reply STOP to any message to opt out of further messages.

Rink Report is not liable for un-delivered alerts due to network issues, carrier failures, device state, or incorrect contact information. You assume all risk when skating.

5. SMS & Voice Messaging Programme

Programme name: Rink Report Roll Safe Alerts.

Programme description: Rink Report Roll Safe Alerts is a safety notification programme. When a skater starts a Roll Safe session and does not check back in before their timer expires — or when the skater sends an alert themselves or locks their own account from the lost-phone page while a session is running — we send a safety alert to the emergency contacts that skater has saved. Alerts may be delivered by SMS, by automated voice call, and by email where an address has been provided. If the skater checks in safe after an alert went out, we send those contacts one short follow-up message saying so. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this programme.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies; messages are sent only when a Roll Safe timer expires, a skater sends an alert, or a skater locks their own account while a session is running, plus one follow-up message if the skater checks in safe after an alert.

Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out and help: Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further messages. Reply HELP for assistance.

Customer support: Contact us at rinkreport.app/contact for help with this messaging programme.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Consent to receive these messages is obtained from the skater who saves an emergency contact, who confirms at the point of entry that they have that person's permission to be contacted on their behalf. Consent is specific to this programme and is not bundled with any other agreement. See our Privacy Policy.

6. Premium Subscriptions

Premium features are billed monthly or annually. On the web and on Android, billing is through Stripe. In the iPhone app (version 1.2 and later), Premium is bought through Apple In-App Purchase and billed to your Apple ID; Apple's own terms apply to that purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. Cancel a Stripe subscription from your Profile, and an App Store subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings (on your iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions), at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. We provide no refunds for partial billing periods; refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. The Founder Special is a one-time payment for lifetime Premium and does not renew.

The map, spots, events, Roll Safe check-in timers, your Skate Log sessions and alerts for one favorite spot are free. Premium adds alerts for every favorite spot, Skate Log extras (year in review, gear care and setups, GPX and FIT file import, and rink ratings and notes), video on reports and events, creating and leading a crew, additional emergency contacts with the voice call, and weather quiet hours, travel areas and the morning digest. We may change which features are free and which are Premium; what you already saved stays available to you, and a change never affects a period you have already paid for. A Premium membership bought on any platform works on every platform with the same account, except in iPhone app versions before 1.2, which show the free features only.

7. Third-Party Content and Trademarks

Spot and host pages may show public information and photos from the Instagram accounts that venues and hosts list, with a link back to the account. That content belongs to its owners, who can ask us to remove it by emailing info@rinkreport.app; see our Privacy Policy for what we read and keep.

Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. Rink Report is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta or Instagram.

The gear section shows products of Roller Skates of America, a partner shop, with its permission. Rink Report does not sell, price, ship or take returns on them: each product opens on the shop's own website, where the price, availability, checkout, shipping and returns are the shop's, under its own terms and privacy policy. Product names, brands and photos belong to the shop and its vendors, and Rink Report is independent of those brands.

8. What You Send Us: Tips, Memories and Dispatches

You may send us tips about a rink, memories of a rink that closed ("The Last Song"), and, with Premium or as an ambassador, a dispatch: a first-hand report from a place you visited. Send only text, photos and videos that you wrote or took yourself. By sending something you give Rink Report a free, non-exclusive licence to review it and, only if we publish it and for a dispatch only after an editor approves it, to show it in the app and on our website, under your username for a dispatch. Tips and memories are private and are never published without asking you first. You keep ownership of what you send, you can ask us to remove a published piece by emailing info@rinkreport.app, and we may refuse or remove anything that breaks section 3, is not first-hand, is paid promotion, is about a named private person, or states that a rink is closed, sold or changing owners (those only come from the venue, local press or a public record).

If you post a listing on Rinks for Sale, you are responsible for it being accurate and for having the right to sell what you list. Rink Report does not verify listings and is not a party to any sale. A phone number appears on a listing only if you choose to show it; it is then visible to everyone, so enter only a number you are happy to publish. You can remove a listing, and its number, at any time.

Published dispatches earn one free month of Premium, up to three months a year. The month is added to a free or dated Premium grant, credited at your monthly price ($9.99) to the next invoice of a monthly subscriber, or credited at $5.00 to the next invoice of an annual subscriber; lifetime members receive the byline and Correspondent badge only, and ambassadors earn no months. A reward is granted only when the piece is published, has no cash value and cannot be transferred, and may be reversed if the piece is removed for breaking these terms within 30 days.
